Update from the Orchards!

2013 started with a bang for us here at Mannings Juice. After a difficult harvest in 2012, we spent that Christmas thinking that we could take our juice away from the supermarkets and direct to the people… our very own juice revolution was born! The Juice Box Scheme was dreamed up, and after months of planning, we put the first Discovery apple juice into bags in August 2013. This is a busy time for us as we are busy harvesting all the fruit on the farm.

We grow over 20 different varieties of apple, 4 varieties of pear and the Victoria Plum, all of which came into season at slightly different times – oh the joys of the Great British Apple Harvest! Once our bumper harvest was finished it was time to hit the road and persuade you lovely people to join the Juice Box Scheme and experience delicious single varietal fruit juice, all grown by our family in Herefordshire. The orchards have been put to sleep for the Winter, the grass is muddy, and the branched are bare, bring on the Spring when the beautiful blossom will arrive.
